What are the benefits of a girls'-only education?

We believe that girls’ schools challenge the outdated stereotypes about what young women can aspire to and encourage the behaviours that give women choices. Our pupils report higher levels of self-confidence and greater participation in class discussions than girls in coeducational settings. They are also more comfortable taking risks. In the world of work, women educated in girls’ schools are more likely to apply for promotion or to ask for a pay rise. Girls’ schools are successful in encouraging self-confidence, determination and individual choice, not simply because there are no boys, but because of the attitudes that permeate them.

Girls deserve a level playing field and a place to be the boldest, truest version of themselves.

What is High Performance Learning?

We are proud to be accredited as a High Performance Learning World Class School.
We believe that all of our students can be high performers:

  • High achievement is an attainable target for everyone
  • Intelligence is not fixed; we can all get smarter
  • High performers are made, not born; they work for it.
  • We teach our students how to practice and persevere so that they can achieve. It is one element that helps us create self-assure young people, who are kind and caring, astute problem-solvers and strategic thinkers.

What are your academic results?

We are proud of our reputation for preparing students for academic success both at the school and beyond.  Pupils achieve on average almost one grade higher at GCSE than their already significant baseline ability would suggest. At A level their value-added score is approximately half a grade higher with a quarter of all results a grade higher.

Last year 92% of all A levels were A*-B while 69% were A*-A. For GCSEs, 80% of all grades were 7/A and above with 30% of all results grade 9.
