Senior School
Before selecting your visit choices please make sure you are on our enquiry list.
There are two senior open mornings a year and these are held on a Saturday, one in October and one in June. Please feel free to bring your daughter and other members of your family who are interested in the future she might enjoy at St Swithun’s, a flourishing independent school for girls in Hampshire.
Your visit will include:
- A presentation from headmistress Jane Gandee, deputy head academic Charlie Hammel and deputy head pastoral Graham Yates.
- A self-guided tour where you can participate in subject activities, and learn about our academic enrichment programme, co-curricular clubs and vast array of offerings.
- Talk to current pupils, teaching and pastoral staff, the headmistress, the admissions team and the school chaplain.
- Light refreshments.
- Senior school tours include the boarding houses if appropriate and the day will last approximately two hours.
A waiting list is always in operation for open mornings so we will be in touch with you nearer the date of the event for you to confirm details of your party and that you would still like your place.

Prep School
Our open afternoons include:
- Welcome from Prep school head Liz Norris.
- Individual tour of the school led by a year 6 pupil.
- Light refreshments served and there will be a chance for you to meet a number of our specialist teachers.
- All of our open days occur on a Friday afternoon during term time.
Preschool and reception themed afternoons include a welcome from Mrs Norris, our Prep School Head, followed by a range of activities for our visiting children and a chance to see our Early Years provision and meet our staff.

Your individual senior school visit will take you around the key areas of the school accompanied by a member of the admissions team. You will meet with a member of the leadership team. For senior school visits, please email us with your preferred days so that we can make the most convenient arrangement for you. These visits normally take between 60 – 90 minutes depending on whether your daughter would be a day girl or a boarder (senior school only). For prep visits, please contact Sara Mathieson via email (PrepAdmissions@stswithuns.com) or phone to arrange a visit. |

Online meetings or telephone calls with a member of the admissions team can easily be arranged – please get in touch. We also hold question-and-answer sessions online when needed and particularly for year 12 entry. We will advise parents directly when dates are scheduled.
