EYFS and Prep Open Days | Admissions | St Swithun’s School, Winchester

There are a number of opportunities throughout the year
to see our Prep School, Nursery & Preschool in action

PREP SCHOOL OPEN AFTERNOON

Friday 9 October 2026, 1.30 pm

Come and experience St Swithun’s on a school day.

Choosing a school is about so much more than what you can see online. Our Open Afternoon is an opportunity to step inside St Swithun’s Prep, meet the people who make it special and get a feel for everyday life here. You’ll be welcomed by our Head of Prep, Liz Norris, before setting off on an individual tour led by one of our current pupils. See the school through their eyes, explore our classrooms and facilities, meet some of our specialist teachers and hear first-hand what our pupils love about being here.

There’ll also be time for refreshments, conversation and all the questions you’d like to ask.
This Open Afternoon is for families considering entry from Reception to Year 6. St Swithun’s is girls-only from Reception.

Our Open Afternoons take place during term time, giving you the chance to experience the school as it really is.
We’ll contact you around two weeks beforehand to confirm your attendance.

Personal Tours

If you can’t make our next Open Afternoon ,or would simply prefer to visit us individually, we’d be delighted to welcome you for a personal tour of St Swithun’s Prep. A tour gives you the opportunity to explore the school, talk to us about your daughter and the year group you’re considering, and ask questions specific to your family.
To arrange a visit or talk about Prep admissions, please contact our Registrar, Mrs Sara Mathieson, on 01962 835792  or prepadmissions@stswithuns.com

EARLY YEARS STAY AND PLAY

Friday 25 September 2026, 9:30 - 10:30 am
Friday 13 November 2026, 9:30 - 10:30 am

Once a term, we open the doors to St Swithun’s Nursery & Preschool for a special Stay & Play morning for children aged 18 months to four years  and each time, there’s a new surprise theme to discover. It’s a relaxed chance for you and your little one to spend time with us, explore our new Nursery & Preschool and experience a little of what makes growing up at St Swithun’s rather special.

There might be something to make, something to discover, something wonderfully messy or an adventure waiting outdoors. We keep the theme under wraps until the day, so every Stay & Play brings something new. While little ones follow their curiosity through play and exploration, parents and carers can meet our Early Years team, explore our indoor and outdoor spaces, and ask the questions that matter when choosing a nursery and preschool.

Our approach is warm, nurturing and child-led, with all the space, expertise and opportunities that come from being part of the wider St Swithun’s community. There’s no need for little ones to be on their best behaviour. Come as you are, stay and play, and begin to imagine what their days here might look like.
