At St Swithun's, we understand the importance of embracing our larger community and instilling compassion in our students. We actively participate in a variety of programmes that promote equality, increase access to education, and support charitable causes. |
CARITAS |
---|
We value compassion and treat others with respect and kindness. We foster an empathy culture by encouraging our students to act compassionately in their daily lives. |
BROADENING ACCESS |
We are committed to making education accessible to everybody. We provide financial aid to deserving students through our Bramston Fund, which covers tuition as well as other expenditures. |
STATE SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS |
We work with numerous local primary schools on educational partnerships, offering tuition, transport and facility support. These relationships offer engaging activities such as weekly academic enrichment sessions, sports and drama events, and swimming classes, which help over 200 students every week. |
SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY |
---|
Our students actively contribute to the community through a variety of voluntary activities, such as visits to nursing homes, charity events, and support for local organisations. We also organise annual activities such as the Harvest Festival Collection and afternoon tea receptions for seniors. |
SHARING FACILITIES |
We provide discounted fees to local organisations and charities, encouraging a sense of community engagement and support. |
FUNDRAISING |
Every year, our school community raises significant amounts for charitable organisations, chosen by our students, through fundraising events and activities. We actively support significant causes, such as children's hospitals and overseas aid initiatives. At St Swithun's, public benefit is more than simply a concept; it is a belief that drives our actions and determines our commitment to serving others in the local community and beyond. |
