Bright futures begin hereThe Bramston Foundation was named after our founder Anna Bramston, who believed that a good education should be accessible to girls from any background. |
Our transformational bursary programme provides free boarding places to girls from very disadvantaged circumstances, or on the edge of needing to access UK social care. These places provide them with stability, security and opportunity, along with our tailored pastoral support and appropriate mentors to encourage them.
We keep their bursary status anonymous so that they are on the same footing at the school as everyone else. Simply life-changing.
Every pound the foundation fundraises for these bursaries is matched by the school. It means that each gift is worth double for bursary recipients.

who we are |
|
"A key priority is transformational bursaries. They are so important for widening access to St Swithun’s to those who wouldn’t be able to access the school otherwise. They also reflect the ethos of the school’s founder, Anna Bramston and her desire to make a good education for girls and young women accessible, no matter a girls background or circumstance.
"My other key priority is to help the school with ambitious plans to improve the school site and facilities, tailored to the needs of students and the school, and keep the offer at St Swithun’s world class."
Will Beardmore-Gray, Chair of the Bramston Foundation
